Article Writing Tips

Author: Karen McGreevey
28.04.2010

The more you’re in to writing articles, the more you will find that once you’ve written an article it has to be published.
And that’s easy enough for the beginner in you to do, if you have a little bit of guidance.

Take some time to look for article directories that have high traffic, and ones that are user friendly. Such sites are your best option because your article gets quickly spread around the Internet.

Which then results in getting traffic to you faster.

Also, the more articles you write, the more traffic you drive to your Web site!

In addition, if you’re going to be be driving traffic to your site by writing articles, you’ll also need a schedule for writing your articles; as in how many articles you’ll write.

A good number of articles to start with is five.

This means, you plan to write and publish a minimum of 5 articles per day–which factors out to at least 150 articles a month!

And once you get into an “article writing” mindset, you’ll find that by putting your articles into the right directories and distribution sites, you’ll have thousands of back links to your site a month.

Which, in turn, can result in more traffic and/or possible customers/buyers.

Did you see yesterday’s post about how you can “increase traffic to your site” by writing articles?

Here’s that link again for a quick peek/

Traffic, generated by articles you’ve written,is by far and away the quickest way to get back links and to drive traffic to your Web site.

Additionally, it’s my guess you did not build your Web site to “just sit there” nor did you plan to wait for people to, by some fluke or happenstance, stumble upon it.

So, you must do what you can to attract them traffic. A fast and effective way to do just that and to get your Web site indexed by the major search engines is by writing articles.

You’ll see that once your articles are published to directories that already have a lot of traffic, your site will be quickly “picked” up by the search engine crawlers the next time they visit that Web site/article directory.

For you, this means faster indexing and inclusion in the search engines.

I’ll add a couple more thoughts about this tomorrow; so stop back to see how I wrap all this up!

With all the Article Directories on the Internet and all of us wanting to get traffic to our Web site, it seems you can never have too many articles about “writing articles” in your repertoire!

Hence, here are a couple of tips to help you to increase traffic to your site by using articles you’ve written!

Besides getting traffic with your articles, it’s also a great way to increase your exposure to the World Wide Web world!

In particular, you get links to your Web site, usually, by including a “Resource box” at the end of your article.

Now, ideally, your resource box will have links that lead back to your Web site.

This is because if someone reads your article and wants additional information about you or your topic, they will be directed to your Web site. And there, you’ll have the information easily available for them to look at.

Further, resource boxes have an important role in developing back links to your Web site, which are considered very important to search engines for ranking your site against your competition!

Thus, as you can see, yourback links are one of the key steps search engines use to rate your Web site based on relevance of a specific keyword, or topic.

So just remember that when you create aneffective resource box you can drive traffic to your Web site each time a reader looks for additional information about your topic.

Stop back here tomorrow; I’ll have a couple more tips to help you with your article writing.

Tips for Building Blog Traffic, Part 2

Author: Karen McGreevey
24.04.2010

A couple of days ago, I mentioned several ways to get traffic to your blog. Here are a few more tips you might consider for traffic:

You want toupdate your content regularly.

This is because search engines and blog services love to whoosh up regular updates. Thus, if you post to your blog regularly, it’s quite likely you will get targeted traffic via the search engines.

Further, this also means that ideally you ought to write a new post to your blog at least once per day! But, do so with care. Too many updates per day can easily harm your position in the search engines.

How much is too much, you say? If you have 10 or more posts in one 24-hour period, that’s considered too many.

Give some strong thought to posting in forums

But as with many things on the web, do so with caution; don’t spam them. And make sure that what you post is fresh and interesting. Also, add a link to your blog or your Web site in your signature.

Now, don’t post at just any forum.

For example, if you’re selling cds, post in forums about music and cds. Don’t post at car forums if you’re selling furniture.

When you post in forums you get one-way links, which are good for your position in the search engines like Google or msn or Yahoo.

You can submit your blog to blob search engines

There are many, many search engines that list only blogs. If you Google for “blog search engines,“ you ought to easily find at least 20 search engines that will help you get targeted traffic.

When you submit to the search engines, be sure to give your blog a good title and an even better description of your blog, so your potential customers can find it easily, and click on your link.

Tips to Increase Traffic to Your Blog

Author: Karen McGreevey
23.04.2010

Blogs are a very popular way to promote your product or service.

Particularly, as they are easy to install, easy to administer and easy to keep up-to-date.

And search engines love them too. But without traffic, a blog has little to no merit.

I have a few tips to help you increase traffic to your blog. I’ll post one today, and a few more tomorrow.

And when you’ve finished putting “all your ducks in a row” by using these tips, you ought to be see the big sales coming in!

1.Build a list of blog services to ping
There are a lot of blog services you can ping.

This means you notify that service, that you’ve updated your blog. That service will then list your new posts and you get the traffic from them.

2.Add buttons to popular news readers
There are sites like Yahoo or Google or Bloglines etc, that have a members area where you can select sites with RSS feeds to go get the latest updates from different blogs.

While you’re at it, make it a point to follow along with at least half of the five steps (those I’ve listed today and the others I’ll post tomorrow), and before long you’ll start to see lots of traffic to your blog. Which means, sales will pick up!

Oh, and one more tip…don’t forget to regularly add fresh content to your blog, with content if possible that you write yourself.

Sharon Williams of OIVAC and The 24Hour Secretary, is really making the rounds for the tour this year, answering questions about the VA industry and the Convention.

Today, you’ll find her answers about the OIVAC Convention and the VA Industry at Andrea Cannavina’s “LegalTypist.”

Sharon will stop here on April 30 to answer some questions I’ve put together. I look forward to having you stop back then…if not before!

Finding Free Content on the Web

Author: Karen McGreevey
17.04.2010

If you’re thinking about building a new Web site, ideally, your plan ought to ensure it is composed of original content.

However, you may run into trouble doing that because that method is very time-consuming. And in some cases, it may even be outside of your knowledge and expertise.

It can also be quite expensive to create your own content!

This is why sites like article banks are especially useful because they help to build the content level.

Additionally, you should take care to ensure that whatever materials you use actually pertain to your site, especially since the top search engines such as Google rank their pages on a relevant link system.

In addition to the actual number of links!

While it is quite good to have a thousand links, if six hundred of those links revolve around movies when your Web site pertains to motor sports, your ranking will still be at the low end of the ranking scale.

Here’s a quick tip to help you get started writing your article.

Just imagine someone is sitting in front of you asking for advice.

So, just talk to them!

Keep your tone natural and conversational, and stay with the question-and-answer format.

Virtual Assisting is one of the fastest growing industries of the 21st century.

Which is not surprising, given the many cost-effective and time-saving benefits of using a VA. The list of tangible and non-tangible benefits associated with hiring a VA is extensive and virtually limitless.

And one of the greatest advantages to small businesses and entrepreneurs partnering with VAs is the elimination of costs associated with providing employee benefits, paying taxes, purchasing furniture and equipment, and the additional costs often associated with training.

As Independent Contractors and entrepreneurs, Virtual Assistants are responsible for paying their own benefits, insurance, taxes, and other associated costs.

You can find out more about the Virtual Assistant industry and learn from the best when you attend the 5th Annual Online International Virtual Assistants Convention.

Get the details at OIVAC now, and while you’re there, take a second to register.
