Have you been catching our posts of the last week or so where we’ve been showing the similarities between Internet Marketing and Infomercials!

In case you want to play catch up, here are, some of the series posts on How Infomercials and Internet Marketing are the same or similar.

The “series” continues with this…nowadays, with the economy the way it is, your irresistible offer is your chance to “pay for a product or service” in payments.

In fact, many times, you’ve probably found that a product will be easier to get with a lower monthly payment that has been divided over several months. In particular, think lay-away!

So copy this!

With your offers, set up a payment plan for your products, courses, workshops, coaching, and the like. You’ll be surprised at the increased response you’ll have.

And with today’s shopping cart systems, the payment option is easy enough to implement and to put into practice.

The other day, I began a several days’ series on How Infomercials and Internet Marketing are the same or similar.

Today, marks the fourth in the series for comparisons, with this scoop:

Have you ever noticed how more and more celebrity guest hosts seem to be “running” the successful Infomercials? They’re everywhere!

This is because people seem more inclined to pay attention when a celebrity is “selling”; they want to be like that celebrity; use products that celebrity uses.

Actually, you can do the same when you’re in marketing mode!

While you’re most likely not able to locate a star of significant stature to help you with your marketing efforts, you may be able to partner with one of the leading Internet marketers (or someone similar in your niche) to help you market your product or service.

Or, better yet, you be the celebrity! Share stories, be personal, and have fun with your market.

The other day, I started a several days’ series on How Infomercials and Internet Marketing are the same or similar.

Today, marks the third day of comparisons, with this bit of information:

If you’ve noticed, most 30 minute spots in Infomercials are over 80% customer testimonials. They’ve learned testimonials are hands-down the BEST way to get credibility. So don’t hold back on showing your testimonial fervor.

Put your testimonials on your site in plain sight; if you have a “sidebar”, you could include them there. Or you might even devote a whole page to your testimonials.

Take a look at Corey Perlman’s book, eBoot Camp: Proven Internet Marketing Techniques to Grow Your Business to help you with your Internet Marketing.

Infomercials Grab Your Attention

Author: Karen McGreevey
12.10.2011

The other day, I posted a “preamble” to a series of posts about Internet Marketing and Infomercials, which will identify how they are similar.

Here now “the meat” of the posts regarding Infomercials and Internet Marketing begins.

Infomercials know they have only seconds to get their customer’s attention and keep it for as long as possible or they’ll lose him or her in a millisecond.

So, the announcers talk fast and give bold statements as they emphasize how their doohickey will change your life.

You should do this, too, with your presentations–stop beating around the bush! Make it clear in a few words or less how your products and services will change *your readers’/customers’* lives!

And if you stop back here again over the next few days, and you’ll have access to some more tidbits about Infomercials and Internet Marketing.

In the meantime, have a look at Matt Bailey’s book,
Internet Marketing: An Hour a Day. It has some tips to help you get started with Internet Marketing, if you’re so inclined.

Internet Marketing and Infomercials

Author: Karen McGreevey
10.10.2011

I’ve often recently said I’m a “TV cable news junkie,” but few know I’m a “recovering Infomercial junkie,” as well!

In fact, I used to get up really early weekend mornings so I could watch in the “dark and quiet” such infomercials as Victoria Principal’s skincare and Bare Essentials face products, as well as many of the Ab Blaster and thigh-types exercise machines.

In some ways, the Infomercials’ tactics remind me of the man at the State fair selling that knife that cut through tomato skins lickety-split, and probably tables, too, if you weren’t careful!

When you think about it, while these “antics” might be considered annoying by some, they often use many of the strategies that could help you market your business or service.

This is not to say you have to “scream your head off” at your customers or to continuously run a “blue light special” at your Web site.

Such gimmicks, after all, can be more of a distraction or turn-off than a positive experience.

However, what many people don’t realize is that often the very strategies that sell a kitchen dealie-bop are the same ones that can help you sell your products and programs.

In the next few days, I’m going to break these tips into individual pieces and will discuss them here.

So be sure to stop back to see them first-hand.

It’s All About the Profile

Author: Karen McGreevey
08.10.2011

If you have a Facebook account, you’ve most likely set up a profile; but is it complete?

Have you “filled in all the blanks”, so to speak?

Since your profile is what represents who you are as a business or company on Facebook, it’s especially important that you leave no stone unturned when setting up that profile. As it could either be your ticket to success or your quickest route to disaster!

It all comes down to how you create your profile to generate traffic to your website and to boost your sales.

Now, it’s not just about setting up the profile, as in doing so, you want to make your Facebook profile interesting.

If it’s not, then how do you expect to attract visitors and potential customers? Also, when you are interesting, it makes people want to listen to what you have to say.

And while you’re creating and maintaining your Facebook profile, be sure you keep your information on your profile up-to-date and current.

Here’s a really neat little book by Chris Treadaway, Facebook Marketing: An Hour a Day to help you with your socializing once you’ve set up your page.

Tips for Creating Marketing Content

Author: Karen McGreevey
05.10.2011

There are a lot of different ways to get your product, service or website in front of potential customers online.

And marketing with content is one of the most effective ways to do it. Here are a couple tips to make your content marketing stand out from the rest and work in your favor!

1. Vary Your Media Types – In other words, don’t rely on just one specific way of delivering your content.

While articles are very useful and the most common form of content marketing, video, audio and holding teleseminars are all equally appealing options to readers. Although some of these take a little longer to create, they all have their advantages. You’ll ind that using multiple forms of content delivery makes it easier to reach a larger audience.

2. Social Networking – Social networking sites such as Twitter, MySpace, Facebook, LinkedIn and Digg are perfect vehicles to create your business networking contacts.

You can link up with people who are interested in your service and even create partnerships with other people to increase your exposure.

In his book, Attention! This Book Will Make You Money: How to Use Attention-Getting Online Marketing to Increase Your Revenue”, Jim Kukral offers some additional guidance for adding content to your Internet marketing efforts.

Say Your Piece

Author: Karen McGreevey
03.10.2011

You’ve spent all that time (or maybe not) writing an article about whatever it is that you write about for your business, for fun, or to put a price tag on to help to increase your profit.

So now’s your chance to make it work for you.

Besides do the same old, same old like submitting it to article directories, try breaking your article into bits, and posting parts of it on your blog.

Or, if you’ve written a “how to” article, you might take one of the “how to” points and create another article with it. Or…

Say your piece

Get out your microphone, hook it to your computer and start talking! You can even “read your article”, to make an audio.

You can then make it available as a download at your site as incentive to your visitors to leave their email information. In turn, you grow your list!

Audio is especially great because you can then “burn” the audio to a disc, to be carried about and played while your clients/visitors/interested parties are driving, having some quiet time, doing a hobby, etc.

And you and your expertise are staying in front of your audience!
