Internet Marketing and Infomercials
Author: KMcGreevey: KonceptualityI’ve often recently said I’m a “TV cable news junkie,” but few know I’m a “recovering Infomercial junkie,” as well!
In fact, I used to get up really early weekend mornings so I could watch in the “dark and quiet” such infomercials as Victoria Principal’s skincare and Bare Essentials face products, as well as many of the Ab Blaster and thigh-types exercise machines.
In some ways, the Infomercials’ tactics remind me of the man at the State fair selling that knife that cut through tomato skins lickety-split, and probably tables, too, if you weren’t careful!
When you think about it, while these “antics” might be considered annoying by some, they often use many of the strategies that could help you market your business or service.
This is not to say you have to “scream your head off” at your customers or to continuously run a “blue light special” at your Web site.
Such gimmicks, after all, can be more of a distraction or turn-off than a positive experience.
However, what many people don’t realize is that often the very strategies that sell a kitchen dealie-bop are the same ones that can help you sell your products and programs.
In the next few days, I’m going to break these tips into individual pieces and will discuss them here.
So be sure to stop back to see them first-hand.
