You’ve Got a Twitter Account…Now What? – 2
Continued from yesterday…
When Tweeting, it’s important to remember that as someone who’s using Twitter to promote your business, you must be extremely careful in selecting what you Tweet.
On one hand, you can impress your potential customers and ask instant feedback for your future campaign; on the other hand, one wrong move can badly hamper your business image and distract your customers from believing in your business plans and moves for good!
If you’re using Twitter just to pass the timeor as a little bit of social networking, then you don’t need to give much thought to the content of your Tweets, as it will barely make any difference. In any case, though, remember to not Tweet duplicate information, because nobody wants to read plagiarized content.
In such circumstances, your followers may run off, and the impact of your opinions may also be lessened.
You might be considered a spammer then, or other Twitterers just might conclude you don’t have enough knowledge on the subject, so you tweeted around plagiarized content instead.
If you happen to be a very renowned entrepreneur or business owner, folks might be deeply interested in your personal life.
In such cases, Tweeting 70-80% about your personal life, and squeezing in some handy business promotion within the rest 20-30% tweets may turn out to be quite successful.
While people try to learn more about your personal life, whatever little you write about business in an informal way, will also be read with interest about as equal to your personal info.
On the other hand, not too many will bother to look at what you tweet if you turn to “spammy ways” and try to promote a relatively new product or service.
You must understand that each and every Tweet of yours really counts a lot.
